UK Computing for Particle Physics

The GridPP project is a collaboration of particle physicists and computer scientists from the UK and CERN, who are building a computing Grid for particle physics. GridPP is funded by PPARC as part of its e-Science Programme. GridPP is building a working prototype Grid across 17 UK institutions. Over the next three years, this will be extended to the equivalent of 10,000 PCs.

The role LeSC is playing in this project is to look at the performance of the Grid architecture and to provide testing of the architecture. We are currently investigating the scalability of the EGEE gLite Grid architecture and testing the deployment of this architecture.
